hey people!
my last post was on the first of january, now its already the end of january. fast eh! i'm like 1 more month nearer to ORD le! (: just came back from brunei. okay, it wasn't really that bad as i expected. departed for brunei on 18th january for 9D8N. there were seriously lots of people there but the only guy i know was TY. boarded brunei airlines and not really that bad la their service. reached at 6plus in the morning at brunei. the weather is really cooler than in singapore. maybe because its the raining season. after that, took another 1 hour bus ride to some jetty. then took another 3 hour boat ride to some offshore island. kind of like pulau tekong but its way bigger than it. after that took another 1/2 hour bus ride to lakiun camp. look how tough it is to get to one camp. throughout this 9D8N in camp, i spent 5 days out in the field. the rest, inside the bunk on my bed. LOL! seriously when i've no cover, i'll just be in bunk playing psp, reading book or sleeping. its kind of nice that life but definitely this has make more lazy. and i spent most of the time with the signallers, storemen and the admin support people. food in the cookhouse of brunei ain't really that nice i think. most of the meals we'll just go canteen. guess what, i bought $200 there and i only spent $30. and all of them on canteen, wowowowow! their canteen is quite awesome, cable tv and wireless router! and yes, i watched my liverpool vs wolves match live there, cool eh! (: the field of brunei is seriously quite jialat! no wonder SAF loves to bring soldiers there. afternoon the sun big like crazy, at night, rain like hell. and guessed what, there's rat in the forest somemore. my first cover was with a signaller and driver inside a tentage out in the field for 3D2N. the rat came on both night to steal out nightsnack ): and worst thing is nightsnack is our only breakfast. the size of rat is seriously, the biggest i've seen. now i really hate rats! ew! in terms of medical side, there was not really any casualties for me. just simple abrasions and insect bits. speaking of insect bites, i've countless of them on my arms ): but one guy got heli-evac because of heat stroke. kind of scary! (: and i was also out in the field on my birthday. freakingly sad please! just me, signaler, driver and a safety officer in the rover on my birthday. and on the night of my birthday, i lied down on my bed quite emo. a bit feel like crying cause the feelings is just so sucky! but nvr mind, thanks to all those who messaged me on my birthday. sorry i didn't reply cause i heard one message is like $1.80 !@?@?!?@! i hope you people will be reading this (: and appreciate those ppl who wished me via facebook. couldn't gain access to the com in the canteen since there were many ppl fighting for it. wednesday was our R&R, it was seriously quite boring. took the water taxi back to the main town of brunei. then the tourguide brought us to museum, market, mosque. all of those i just stayed on the bus too lazy to go down. lunch was good, very very nice buffet (: then went to their water village, oh its seriously like kukup. exactly the same, after that went to the one and only, The Mall! lol, don't ask me why its called The Mall. i think because its the only mall in brunei. it was seriously quite boring there. thought of buying souvenirs back but aw, nothing much. we spent like 6 hours in the mall walking and walking aimlessly. saw some other chinese people there too. its kind of rare to see chinese people in brunei. and everyone of the people in brunei is super rich. cause the govt is super rich and take of its people well. just $20000 can get you a car and COE is only like less than $10? and you know 1litre of mineral water is actually more expensive than 1litre of oil? overall it was quite a good experience and i'm just so glad to be home! (: reached home at about 3am. went into my room, SURPRISES! my mom got a new bed and set of bed sheets for me. and on the bed was a shirt from her as my birthday present. on my table was an Agnes B card holder from my sis. wow! i nvr really dream of having any Agnes B stuff. and the saddiest thing is i didn't buy any birthday present for her. cause The Mall was that disappointing ): and guess what, next week is chinese new year loh! i still want go buy more clothes sia! really can't wait for chinese new year cause finally mahjong and bak kwa (: and i'm so happy that even though i've been eating canteen food in brunei, i've slimmed down to 60kg le! (: wee! i'm so gonna hit my 55kg target, maybe after CNY, haha! (: 11:56 am |
